Peel Region reporting 59 new cases of COVID-19, 32 in Mississauga and 22 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 59 new COVID-19 cases as of Monday (August 23).

Of Monday’s new cases, 32 are in Mississauga, while 22 are in Brampton, and just five are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 113,237 cases. Of these, 111,785 have recovered, while 535 are still pending, 3,272 have been hospitalized, and 918 have died.

As of Monday, 59.3 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.5 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 639 new cases on Monday, but no new deaths. With 19,866 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 3.22 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 22,589 vaccinations. As of Monday, 72 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 84 per cent of adults, and 76 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
