Peel Region reporting 55 new COVID-19 cases, 33 in Mississauga and 20 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 55 new COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday (October 5).

Of Tuesday’s new cases, 33 are in Mississauga, while 20 are in Brampton, and just two are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 116,768 cases. Of these, 115,340 have recovered, while 246 are still pending, 3,435 have been hospitalized, and 1,019 have died.

As of Tuesay, 58.7 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 37 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.2 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 429 new cases on Tuesday, as well as three new deaths. With 25,441 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.69 per cent.

As of Tuesday, 87 per cent of Peel residents over the age of 11 have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 81 per cent have received both doses.
