Peel Region reporting 53 new COVID-19 cases, 24 in Mississauga and 21 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 53 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (October 15).

Of Friday’s new cases, 24 are in Mississauga, while 21 are in Brampton, and eight are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 117,359 cases. Of these, 115,989 have recovered, while 351 are still pending, 3,451 have been hospitalized, and 1,020 have died.

As of Friday, 58.6 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 37 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.2 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 496 new cases on Friday, as well as two new deaths. With 35,905 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 1.38 per cent.

As of Friday, 87 per cent of Peel residents over the age of 11 have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 82 per cent have received both.
