Peel Region reporting 112 new COVID-19 cases, 50 in Mississauga and 47 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 112 new COVID-19 cases as of Friday (September 17).

Of Friday’s new cases, 50 are in Mississauga, while 47 are in Brampton, and 15 are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 115,519 cases. Of these, 113,935 have recovered, while 594 are still pending, 3,385 have been hospitalized, and 991 have died.

As of Friday, 58.9 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.8 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 795 new cases on Friday, as well as five new deaths. With 33,763 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.35 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 35,285 vaccinations. As of Friday, 75 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 86 per cent of adults, and 80 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
