Peel Region reporting 106 new COVID-19 cases, 45 in Mississauga and 49 in Brampton and

The Region of Peel is reporting 106 new COVID-19 cases as of Thursday (August 26).

Of Thursday’s new cases, 49 are in Brampton, while 45 are in Mississauga, and 12 are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 113,512 cases. Of these, 112,020 have recovered, while 561 are still pending, 3,314 have been hospitalized, and 932 have died.

As of Thursday, 59.3 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.5 per cent are in Mississauga, and just four per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 678 new cases on Thursday, but no new deaths. With 27,815 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate down to 2.44 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 38,932 vaccinations. As of Thursday, 73 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 84 per cent of adults, and 77 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
