Peel Region reporting 101 new COVID-19 cases, 61 in Mississauga and 30 in Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 101 new COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday (September 1).

Of Wednesday’s new cases, 61 are in Mississauga, while 30 are in Brampton, and 10 are in Caledon.

This brings the total for the Region to 114,035 cases. Of these, 112,508 have recovered, while 572 are still pending, 3,333 have been hospitalized, and 956 have died.

As of Wednesday, 59.2 per cent of cases are in Brampton, 36.5 per cent are in Mississauga, and just 4.1 per cent are in Caledon.

The Province is reporting 656 new cases on Wednesday, as well as 13 new deaths. With 27,572 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.38 per cent.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 34,703 vaccinations. As of Wednesday, 73 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 85 per cent of adults, and 78 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
