Another Peel police officer is facing criminal charges and was suspended with pay.

Niagara Regional Police charged Peel Regional Police officer Kristopher Habjan with criminal harassment on Oct. 13, Peel Regional Police spokesperson Const. Heather Cannon confirmed.

The charges are related to an off-duty incident, Cannon added.

Niagara Regional Police confirmed Habjan was arrested but couldn’t provide more details.

“I am unable to provide further comment as the matter is before the courts,” said Const. Barry Ravenek, media relations officer, in an email.

Habjan was suspended with pay pursuant to the provisions of Ontario Police Services Act, said Cannon.

This week, police also announced another officer, Const. Sukhdev Sangha, faces criminal charges related to a robbery in Brampton.
