Police respond to person in crisis in Brampton

Multiple Peel Regional Police cruisers were involved in a collision late this morning (Jan. 12) with one other vehicle just east of the Mississauga border in Toronto.

Peel police said in a post to social media that there were no injuries in the crash, which took place at Eglinton Ave. and Renforth Dr. in west Toronto at about 11 a.m.

Police didn’t immediately say how many Peel police cars were involved in the collision, a spokesperson telling insauga.com only that “several cruisers” were involved, nor did they provide details as to the circumstances leading to the crash.

The police spokesperson did say that Peel police are investigating and that the matter is not an Ontario Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigation.

The SIU investigates incidents involving police and civilians in which injury and/or deaths have occurred.

The area has been closed down while police investigate the incident.
