Peel police charge a Brampton bishop with sexual assault

Peel Regional Police say they have charged a bishop in a sexual assault investigation.

Police say the sexual assault victim attended a church in the area of Kennedy Road and Clarence Street in Brampton. While at the church, it is alleged that the victim was sexually assaulted.

On Friday, August 12, police charged Clive Walters, a 58-year-old man from Dundalk, Ontario, in connection with the case. He is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Walters will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 3, 2022.

This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims. 

A church called New Life Kingdom Ministries, at 83 Kennedy Rd. S. lists Walters as a bishop.
