The Urgent Care Centre at Peel Memorial Centre will be closing early over the Labour Day long weekend.

The William Osler Health System (Osler) made the announcement on Wednesday, saying the Urgent Care Centre at the Peel Memorial would be reducing its hours starting on Friday, Sept. 2.

“Beginning September 2 through to September 5, the UCC will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily to provide care to patients in need of immediate but non-life threatening care,” Osler said in a release.

The UCC is usually open until 9:00 p.m., and Osler said regular operating hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Osler’s 24-hour emergency departments at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital will remain open for patients in need of emergency care.

Residents can also connect with a physician from home using Osler’s Virtual Urgent Care Service, which is available on weekdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A spokesperson for Osler said hospitals make adjustments to program and service offerings “as part of regular operational best practices, based on requirements and need for resources.”
