The Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) will be honouring Remembrance Day this year with new virtual exhibits and a comic book exploring the history of Mississauga.
Starting on Nov. 9, PAMA will be featuring the stories of local men and women who served on the front lines of armed conflicts with the “Stories of Service and Sacrifice” exhibit.
The museum is also holding a virtual roundtable called “War, Remembrance and Comics” on Nov. 10 at 12:00 p.m.
Heritage Mississauga produces a heritage-themed comic book each year that celebrate the stories of Mississauga, and the virtual event will feature Matthew Wilkinson from Heritage Mississauga and artist Daniel Wong.
Wong has penciled the comic series since the project began in 2013, and the artists will be discussing how he conceptualizes a story into a visual narrative.
PAMA is still closed for in-person visits due to the pandemic and construction, but it remains open online and continues to provide virtual events, activities, and exhibits.
The Access Peel Front Desk on the Art Gallery side is accessible from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
