Pedestrian struck in hit-and-run in Mississauga

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Friday evening near Cawthra Road and Dundas Street East in Mississauga in a hit and run.

Peel Regional Police say the driver fled the scene westbound on Dundas Street East after the collision. They have no description at this time of the vehicle or the driver and are asking the public for assistance in locating the suspect.

The pedestrian, described only as female, is believed to have injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Dundas Street is currently closed to traffic between Cawthra and Franze Road. Police are asking drivers to use an alternate route.
