Police are investigating and telling drivers on the east side of the city to consider adjusting their routes after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police said just after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday that lanes have been closed at Mississauga Road and Edgeware Road after police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Despite the collision police say no serious injuries have been reported, adding that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Police say lanes in the area have been reduced while officers are on the scene and say drivers should avoid the area or find alternate routes if possible.
