Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Brampton suffers critical injuries

A pedestrian is fighting for their life in hospital after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Brampton.

The collision happened around 12:45 a.m. on Queen Street East between Cherrycrest Drive and Beaumaris Drive.

Peel Regional Police say the pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was taken to a trauma centre. The driver remained at the scene.

Queen Street East remains closed in both directions between Cherrycrest Drive and Beaumaris Drive and is expected to remain shut for an undetermined period while police investigate.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
