UPDATE: Pedestrian killed by GO Train in Burlington, area tracks and roads closed

UPDATE: The pedestrian was killed.

A pedestrian has been struck by a passenger GO train on the Lakeshore West line, between the Appleby GO station and Burloak Drive.

Police, fire and paramedics are on the scene. Burloak is closed in the area of the level crossing tracks, south of the QEW.

According to the GO Transit website, GO Trains will not be able to move through the area for several hours, until a full investigation is completed.

The line will experience significant delays and probable cancellations.

GO service modifications for riders include GO buses running between the Bronte and Appleby stations.
