Pedestrian struck and killed on Hwy. 401 in Oshawa

A man was struck and killed on Hwy. 401 last night.
The pedestrian, 23, was spotted in the westbound lanes of the highway near Harmony Rd. around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. The OPP says they received multiple 911 calls regarding the man. However, by the time officers arrived, he had been hit. This caused a collision of several cars.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified him or filed charges against any drivers.
Investigators shut down the road for some time to collect evidence. The lanes have since been reopened, but the investigation is ongoing. The OPP has asked anyone who saw the man or the crash to come forward so they can piece together what happened.
