A male pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton.

Around 2:20 p.m. on Thursday (July 14), Peel Regional Police say officers were called to the area of Airport Rd. and Bovaird Dr.

Police say a vehicle and pedestrian were involved in a collision, and the male adult pedestrian was taken to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash, according to police.

Southbound traffic on Airport Rd. has been shut down at Bovaird Dr., and police say drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible.

No other details about the victim were immediately available from police.

The crash is at least the second pedestrian-involved incident in Brampton this week.

On Tuesday, a pedestrian was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle shortly before 9:15 p.m. at Steeles Ave. East and Kennedy Rd. South.
