Updated: Pedestrian seriously hurt in Brampton hit and run

A hit and run in Brampton has left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

Update: Peel Regional Police have confirmed the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, but remain serious. The Major Collision Bureau has taken charge of the investigation.

A woman was walking near Intermodal Dr. and Airport Rd. when she was struck by a car. The woman was seriously injured and taken to a trauma centre for treatment.

Peel Regional Police announced the crash shortly before 6 p.m. At the time police were unsure if her injuries were life-threatening.

The driver took off from the scene.

Police have shut down Airport Rd. from Clark Blvd. to Steeles Ave. and Intermodal Dr. from Walker Dr. to Devon Dr. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
