A woman is in the hospital tonight after she was struck by a car at a busy Brampton intersection.

The woman was walking near Ray Lawson Blvd. and McLaughlin Rd, near homes and commercial plazas, around 6:30 p.m. She was struck by a car and suffered injuries severe enough to require a trauma centre.

The vehicle remained at the scene of the crash. Peel Regional Police have closed the northbound lanes of McLaughlin Rd. down from Ray Lawson Blvd. to Kingknoll Dr.
