Pedestrian killed after collision with transport truck on 401 in Whitby

A man was killed on the 401 in Whitby late Wednesday night after he was struck by a transport truck.
OPP Highway Safety tweeted out early this morning that they responded to the crash on the 401 near Thickson Road exit around 11:30 p.m. on November 17.
Police believe the man is a 34-year-old from Toronto, though his identity was not released. The tweet says his family has been notified.
The westbound lanes were closed for several hours as police investigated, but have since been reopened.
