A pedestrian was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a hit-and-run collision with a transport truck in Caledon.

The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday when the OPP says officers were called to a section of Coleraine Drive.

Police say the driver of a transport truck collided with the pedestrian who suffered serious but non-life threatening wounds in the crash. The victim was taken to a local hospital, police said.

But police say the driver took off and failed to remain at the scene of the crash, investigators say.

Police closed Coleraine Drive between Parr Boulevard and George Bolton Parkway for several hours while collision specialists investigated the crash.

Investigators are still searching for the transport truck driver and anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the crash is asked to contact the Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.
