Pedestrian in hospital after hit-and-run crash in Caledon

A pedestrian is in hospital and police are searching for the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta after a hit-and-run crash in Caledon.

Just after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the Caledon OPP say officers were called to Kennedy Rd. just north of Benadir Ave. in Caledon for reports of a crash.

Police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and the driver fled the scene after the collision. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are searching for the driver and are asking the public for help locating the vehicle.

The car involved in the crash is believed to be a dark-coloured 2011 to 2016 Volkswagen Jetta. Police say the vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side mirror and may also have damage to its front right side.
