Pedestrian dead after being hit a car in Niagara-on-the-Lake

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car on Irvine Road in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake last night (July 11).

At 9:25 pm, police, EMS and NOTL fire responded to the scene when a 41-year-old pedestrian was hit by a south-bound car, being driven by a 27-year-old male driver.

The driver remained at the scene while attendants rushed the man to the hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.

So far no charges have been laid as the investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the collision reconstruction unit and the office of the coroner.
