Pedestrian critically injured in Brampton after being hit by driver on Bramalea Rd.

UPDATE: The roadway reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
A female pedestrian has been critically injured when she was struck by a motorist in Brampton, and police are looking for dashcam footage from the area.
The collision at Bramalea and Orenda roads also led to road closures on the former roadway late Friday afternoon. The Peel Regional Police have closed northbound Bramalea Rd. from Steeles Avenue to East Drive. They have also closed southbound Bramalea Rd. between East Dr. and Orenda Rd.,
The report to police about a female being struck was received at 3:34 p.m. by PRP. She has been taken to a trauma centre.
Police are asking anyone who was in Bramalea and Orenda areas around that time to come forward with dashcam footage.
The driver of the car remained on the scene, police said.

Peel police did not initially indicate whether its major collision bureau was investigating the crash. But that division is reachable at 9050453-2121, ext. 3710.
