Pearson Airport in Mississauga offers new way for travellers to check delayed flights

Pearson Airport in Mississauga has unveiled a new travel tool to help passengers get a better handle on an old problem.
Airport officials have created an online wait times dashboard that shows live wait times associated with both the arrivals and departures processes at Canada’s busiest airport.
Clean and simple in design, the easy-to-navigate dashboard offers up-to-date information on any delays related to incoming and departing flights, security checkpoints, customs lineups and baggage/luggage status.
Users can easily access information by terminal and flight number.
Lengthy wait times, lost and delayed luggage, and delayed/cancelled flights helped create, at times, chaotic conditions inside Pearson’s two travel terminals this past summer as the airport and airlines dealt with a larger-than-expected number of people returning to air travel as COVID-19 travel restrictions were eased or eliminated.
Several times throughout the summer and into early fall, Pearson Airport received less-than-stellar international reviews for its ability to keep flights on time and move travellers through the airport in timely fashion.
The embattled airport has consistently ranked among the worst in North America–and in some cases, the world–this year as it faced significant challenges related to delayed and cancelled flights, lost luggage, huge lineups and general chaos.
Most recently, a customer satisfaction study of North American airports released on Sept. 21 showed Pearson to be among the lower-ranked travel hubs.
According to the J.D. Power 2022 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, Pearson ranks 16th among 20 “mega airports” across the United States and Canada included in the report.
This is what users of the new wait times dashboard will see as they check for flight and other information at Pearson Airport in Mississauga.
