Pearson offering direct flights to Dublin

WestJet is marking its 10-year anniversary of transatlantic air travel by making Pearson International Airport in Mississauga a go-to launch pad for Canadians looking to escape to Europe. As of this March, Pearson will be offering direct flights to Dublin, commemorating the airline’s inaugural flight to the very same location a decade ago.

“Service between Toronto and Dublin continues to be an important part of WestJet’s story, and we celebrate a decade of service that has strengthened ties between our two countries,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, in an official statement.

WestJet continued to point out that daily services between Pearson and Dublin will not only offer Canadians the chance to explore the beauty of Ireland, but also, offer them a gateway to other areas across all of Europe

“The return of daily seasonal service between Toronto and Dublin gives Canadians the opportunity to immerse themselves in the diverse landscapes,” said Weatherill.

It is important to note, however, that this new window of travel is not a permanent fixture, as direct flights between Pearson and Dublin will be running strictly from March to October — ending its run just as the summer travel season closes out.
