Snake charming may not be listed as a necessary skill to join the Hamilton Police Service now, but that may change after a brave officer had a slithery downtown encounter Wednesday night.
In a Twitter post, Hamilton Police say a cadet pulled out her baton and successfully captured a snake that fell out of a suspect’s jacket and onto the sidewalk.
The $2,000 snake was allegedly stolen from an area pet store.
“You never know what you’ll discover on patrol!” reads the police tweet.

“Peak Hamilton right here,” commented one person.
The snake appeared to be in good spirits and has been returned to the pet store.
