Peel Regional Police were engaged in a car chase in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 31) after a man stole a car with a passenger still inside.

A call came in shortly before 4 a.m. about a car that was just stolen that still had one female passenger inside of it.

Police were able to make contact with the female victim which allowed them to keep track of the stolen vehicle’s location.

The vehicle travelled into the Halton Region and Peel Police joined forces with the Halton Police Service.

A brief police chase was caught on tape after the vehicle rounded a corner near a convenience store security camera.

Halton Police eventually stopped the vehicle in the area of Adamson St. and Guelph St. in Norval.

A 32-year-old man was taken into police custody. The charges the man will face have not been released.

The female victim inside the stolen vehicle suffered minor physical injuries as a result of the incident.
