Passenger in vehicle injured after early morning Oakville shooting

The search is on for a man who shot into a car and struck a passenger in the early hours of Monday (May 30) morning in Oakville.

Halton Regional police are investigating the shooting that took place in the area of Ninth Line and Dundas St.

At around 4 a.m. this morning, police received a 911 call informing them that someone had been shot.

Police were told two people were sitting in a parked vehicle on Ninth Line when an unknown male approached them.

The unknown male became aggressive and left the area, but would return with firearm. He shot into the vehicle, striking the passenger before fleeing the scene on foot.

The injured passenger was driven to the hospital by the driver of the vehicle. He is in non-life threatening condition.

The shooter is described as a South Asian male with black hair. He is six-feet-tall and 200-pounds.
