Part of QEW in St. Catharines shut down for police investigation

It appears a portion of a major highway in St. Catharines will be shut down well into the night.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Friday, the Ministry of Transportation and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that a span of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) highway is closed due to a police investigation. The Fort Erie-bound lanes between Niagara Street and Glendale Avenue were closed. Traffic is being diverted at Lake Street.

The Ontario Provincial Police said that the reopening time for the QEW is “unknown.”
