Police have charged a Brampton man following a road rage incident in Toronto where a parking enforcement officer was allegedly tailed and intimidated by a “visibly upset” driver.
The incident happened last Friday around shortly after 3 p.m. last Friday when a Parking Enforcement Officer was on patrol in the Queen Street West and Portland Street area of Toronto, according to the Toronto Police Service.
Police say the officer was issuing a ticket to an illegally parked vehicle when a “visibly upset” man confronted them.
The officer went back to their vehicle and left the scene, but police say the man followed the officer for several blocks and damaged the officer’s vehicle when they were issuing another violation notice to a different vehicle.
Police say the man then fled the area, but police say on Friday that a 22-year-old from Brampton was arrested and charged in relation to the incident on Monday.
Sahajvir Deol, 22, of Brampton has been charged with one count each of intimidation and mischief/damage to property not exceeding $5,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 15 to answer the charges.
