Pair of crashes in Caledon lead to impaired driving charges for Brampton drivers

Man suffers life threatening injuries following multi-vehicle crash in Burlington

Two Brampton drivers are facing impaired driving charges after a pair of crashes in Caledon last weekend.

Around 9:40 on Saturday (May 7), the Caledon OPP say a two-vehicle collision was reported in a parking lot off of Mayfield Rd.

Police say when officers arrived on scene they suspected that one of the drivers’ was impaired.

A 47-year-old driver from Brampton was asked by officers to provide a sample of their breath and as a result, the driver was placed under arrest for impaired operation and taken to the Caledon OPP Detachment where further breath tests were conducted.

Odisho Moshe, 47, of Brampton has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges on July 21.

A little over an hour later on Saturday around 11:10 p.m., another collision was reported on Highway 10 near Forks of the Credit Road.

Police responded to the single motor vehicle collision, and say the vehicle was located on Old School Road.

Officers again suspected the 24-year-old driver from Brampton’s abilities to be impaired, and after conducting breath tests the driver was placed under arrest.

Jashandeep Singh, 24, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused is also scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
