Two suspects from Brampton have been arrested and charged with multiple offences related to human trafficking and prostitution.

On Sept. 13, Peel Regional Police reported that officers initiated a complex investigation into victims involved in the sex trade within the Region of Peel.

Police say it is alleged that both of the accused recruited and exploited victims into the sex trade while keeping their earnings from them.

Authorities confirmed that they proactively conducted an investigation, resulting in the discovery of victims being trafficked by the accused and their accomplice.

Mohd Farhan, 23, is charged with multiple offences, including human trafficking, exercising control, receiving benefits from trafficking persons, and obtaining material benefit from sexual services.

Jagrutiben Bhatt, 44, is also charged with multiple criminal offences including human trafficking, two counts of exercising control, two counts of advertising sexual services, two counts of procuring and two counts of obtaining material benefit from sexual services.

Law enforcement has refrained from divulging details about the victims, including their names, ages, identities, and places of residence.

Police believe there may be more victims and/or witnesses in relation to this investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact them at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3555.
