Two individuals from Hamilton face a slew of charges after being arrested in connection with a break-in at a north-end business on Monday night.
The Hamilton Police Service says that shortly after 7:15 p.m. on June 20, officers were dispatched to the area of Sherman Avenue and Biggar Avenue for an entry into a locked commercial compound. Two suspects were observed on video by security staff.
The suspects were confronted by the on-site security guard and fled the area prior to police arrival. However, HPS says that the arriving officers set up a perimeter around the scene. With assistance from a canine unit, they located the suspects and arrested them “without incident.”
Garett Hughes, age 50, of Hamilton, is facing three charges. Hughes was released on an undertaking.
- Assault with a weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
Bail for Michele Wright, age 55, was opposed, as there were warrants for Wright with both Hamilton police and with Halton Regional Police Service. Wright faces four counts:
- Break and entering
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Theft under $5,000
