Pair arrested after seizure of drugs, shot guns shells at Niagara home

Two people from Niagara Falls were charged Tuesday (Apr. 30) after a Niagara Regional Police investigation led to the seizure of drugs with a street value over $3,610.

The investigation of illegal drugs in Niagara Falls began early this year and led to a search warrant being issued at a residential home located on Drummond Rd., near Lundy’s Lane.

During a search of the address on Monday (Apr. 29), police seized 204 hydromorphone pills, 2.2 grams of fentanyl, 1.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine along with six shot gun shells.

Jan Altorf, 21, of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking hydromorphone, and two counts of fail to comply with release order.

Altorf was held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Tuesday.

Sharen Boyer, 27, of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, and possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking hydromorphone.

Boyer was released and will have to attend a future court date of June 13, 2004 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
