The City of Burlington is reminding residents that paid parking remains in effect on weekends at Beachway Park.

As of May 21, summer weekend parking fees came into effect from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will remain in place until the end of September.

Parking fees can be paid through the HONK mobile app and the cost is $20 per day or $2.50 per hour.

“Parking spaces at Beachway Park are very limited and the lots fill quickly. We saw an improvement to parking and traffic flow after we introduced paid parking on weekends last summer,” said Craig Kummer, director of Transportation Services back in May.

“The Beachway is a popular destination so visitors should plan ahead and possibly consider coming back another time if the parking lot is full, or to park in an alternative location.”

Should residents park illegally, tickets will be issued and vehicles may be towed.

Those attending Beachway Park are encouraged to walk, use the drop-off zone or park for free downtown.
