Paddington Bear is feeling a little under the weather, so hitting the stage in Oakville will have to wait.

The popular kids show Paddington Gets in a Jam, which was scheduled for tonight (Feb. 2) at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m., has been cancelled.

Paddington’s performance at the AEG Liebherr Auditorium is off after members of the cast tested positive for COVID-19.

The original slapstick comedy features Paddington going next door to borrow a cup of sugar from Mr. Curry and finds his neighbour in a panic because he’s expecting a visit from his Great Aunt Matilda.

Paddington volunteers to help Mr. Curry with his to-do list before her arrival. In typical Paddington fashion, his attempts to help repair pipes in the bathroom, vacuum floors, install new wallpaper and bake a cake don’t go to plan.

Instead, the pipes burst and flood the bathroom. The vacuum misbehaves and leaves dust everywhere and he adds too much self-rising flour to the cake.

As if that’s not enough, his efforts at wallpapering turn into a sticky chaos.

The audience will have to watch the show to find out if Paddington can fix everything before Great Aunt Matilda arrives.

The character from British-born writer Michael Bond has entertained kids and families across the world for over 60 years.

Paddington Gets in a Jam debuted in New York City in 2019.

The Oakville Centre has yet to announce any further dates or whether the event will be rescheduled.
