Owasco, which has been selling Volkswagens, Audis and recreational vehicles in Durham for more than 50 years has extended the naming rights deal at Arena #3 at the Delpark Homes Centre in Oshawa for another five years.

A local family-owned and operated business, Owasco has sponsored Arena 3 since 2018. Sponsorship recognition includes decals on the arena’s window panes, a large banner inside the arena, ice logos during the regular ice season, branding in the change rooms and on the score clock and rink board advertising. In addition, Owasco will be hosting a skills competition annually for the community and their families in support of Lakeridge Health, a health group near and dear to the family’s heart for many years.

“We have such a great relationship with the City of Oshawa and are thrilled to continue our rink sponsorship at Delpark Homes Centre,” said Owasco President Bob Verwey, who called it a “great partnership.”

“The people of our community help to drive our success.”

The Owasco group includes Owasco Audi, Owasco Volkswagen, Owasco RV Centre and Owasco RV Rentals.

“The City of Oshawa is excited to announce the extension of our partnership with Owasco at Delpark Homes Centre for another five years,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter. “We thank Owasco for their generous support and are grateful for their continued investment.”

The Delpark Homes Centre is a recreation and community facility in north Oshawa featuring a leisure pool, four NHL-sized ice pads, a gymnasium, aerobics studio, fitness centre and elevated indoor walking track. It is also home to an Oshawa Public Libraries branch and Oshawa Senior Community Centres branch.

“Sponsorships like this make the City of Oshawa a better place,” said Councillor John Gray, Chair of the Community and Operations Services Committee.
