Overturned garbage truck causing traffic on Hwy 401 in Milton on the border of Mississauga

An overturned semi-tractor full of garbage has left a major intersection in Milton in chaos.
According to Halton police, several lanes on Trafalgar Road, at the Hwy. 401 exchange, will be closed for much of the day while crews clean up a spilled load of garbage and get the truck back on its wheels.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area, which sits very close to the borders of Mississauga, Brampton and Halton Hills.
The incident could wreak havoc as many people head out of work a bit early to get a jump on the Victoria Day long weekend.
Police will provide updates on X (formerly Twitter) as the day progresses.
