Overnight shooting in Mississauga sends one man to the hospital

A man has been sent to hospital after an overnight shooting in a busy part of central Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the man was shot Sunday morning (July 2) at about 2:30 a.m. near Hurontario St. and Glenn Hawthorne Blvd., just south of Bristol Rd.
The man’s injuries are not considered life threatening, police say, and there’s no information yet on a suspect.
A heavy police presence remained in the area as officers investigated the second shooting in the city in seven hours.
At about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 1), four people were sent to hospital, one in critical condition, following a shooting in the area of The Queensway E. and Stanfield Rd., west of Dixie Rd.
