The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) is investigating confirmed reports of overnight gunshots in central Hamilton.

The gunshots were heard at around 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, in the area of Steven and Nightingale streets — between Wilson and King William near Wentworth St.

Police say the scene has been processed, and the investigation is ongoing.

“Residents in the area are asked to review their security surveillance cameras between 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police,” issued HPS. “Detectives are asking anyone driving in the area at that time with dash camera footage to contact investigators.”
