Over 900 Hamilton homes and businesses without power

Alectra Utilities reports a power outage in Hamilton affecting over 900 customers.

Alectra says the power outage covers the area of Wentworth St. to Glendale Ave. from Cumberland Ave. to Beechwood Ave.

The cause of the outage is currently being investigated as crews have been dispatched to make repairs.

Alectra Utilities estimates the power will be restored at approximately 6:30 p.m. this evening.

This causes concern for Hamilton Ticats fans as the CFL team is scheduled to play the Edmonton Elks at the Tim Hortons Field at 7:30 p.m.

Tim Hortons Field is within the designated outage area at the time of publication.
