Over 80 cases of COVID-19 reported amid outbreak at Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton

Halton Public Health continues to manage an ongoing outbreak at Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton.

According to regional data, Maplehurst now has a total of 81 active cases of the virus, including 50 resident cases, two staff cases and 29 non-Halton cases.

“As with all congregate living setting outbreaks, Halton Region Public Health continues to work closely with the setting to manage the outbreak and ensure public health measures are in place,” said Halton Region Public Health in a statement to insauga.

“The name of the affected location is not shared publicly on our dashboard for privacy reasons and will be published only if Halton Region Public Health is unable to reach all individuals who may be at risk associated with the outbreak.”

While the complex continues being referred to as “Congregate Living – 80” on the region’s website, Halton Public Health has confirmed that it is Maplehurst Correctional Complex.

This outbreak was declared on Nov. 4, 2021.
