Over 40 Halton District School Board students receive awards at annual science fair

Over 40 Halton District School Board (HDSB) students recently received awards at the 61st annual Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF).

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition was held virtually this year.

Approximately $150,000 worth of cash prizes, awards and scholarships were given to students participating in BASEF 2021, as a result of the generous participation of dozens of sponsors and charitable donors.

A total of 42 students in the HDSB received awards for their submissions including Caroline Huang from Abbey Park High School, Harini Karthik and Echo Chen from Garth Webb Secondary School, Jeffrey Klinck from Oakville Trafalgar High School, Sabrina Mogus from Garth Webb Secondary School and Vihaan Vashishtha from W. H. Morden Public School.
