An average of 10 assaults per day occurred in Mississauga and Brampton over the last 30 days

Over the past 30 days, there were over 300 reported assaults in Mississauga and Brampton — an average of roughly 10 assaults per day.

Peel Regional Police data indicates a total of 311 assault incidents between Oct. 27 and Nov. 26, 2022.

Both cities saw nearly the same number of assaults, with 157 of these incidents taking place in Mississauga and the other 154 happening in Brampton.

The police investigations into 237 of these incidents are considered solved, 26 are considered unsolved, and 47 investigations are still ongoing.

Police data did not indicate the extent of injuries suffered during each assault.

One of the most notable assault stories of the past month involved a Mississauga Hospital employee who was recently charged with the sexual assault of a patient.
