Over $200 for Uber from Toronto to Mississauga due to GO Train issue

Commuters in the city were left scrambling for alternative transportation options today(Oct. 3) as the GO Train system experienced a significant failure.
With several passengers stranded, the demand for rideshare services like Uber skyrocketed, causing prices to surge to unprecedented levels.
According to the Uber app, the average cost of an Uber X from Union Station to Mississauga has surged to approximately $120, more than the usual fare. For those seeking more spacious rides, an Uber XL now costs an average of $227.
Commuters who rely on public transportation are left with few alternatives to reach their destinations, forcing them to bear the brunt of the increased Uber prices.
The app is notifying its customers about the surcharges, with some passengers reporting seeing multipliers of up to 3.0x or higher during peak travel times.
Metrolinx released a statement earlier this evening stating that they are slowly resuming services in the rail corridors, with a priority at Union Station.
