Mother Nature has been un-cooperative so far this winter but with consistent colder weather here to stay (but for less than six weeks, according to Wiarton Willie’s prediction today) Oshawa City staff can finally assemble the outdoor rink at Delpark Homes Centre and the new rink at Stone Street park.

The opening date for both rinks is Friday; weather permitting of course.

The Delpark rink in the north and at Harmony Road north of Taunton Road opened last year to great success for a short skating season. The Stone Street rink, located at the South Oshawa Community Centre near Lakeview Park, is new this year.

The schedule for both natural ice rinks will include public skating, stick and puck and shinny programming.
