An outdoor European-inspired Christmas market will kick off the season in Mississauga this weekend.
The Mississauga Ward 1 Outdoor Christmas Market is on Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.
Hosted by Coun. Stephen Dasko, the two-day event promises sparkling lights and decor, a 15-foot lit Christmas tree, a dazzling display of ice sculptures, live entertainment performances, over 30 vendors, warming stations, food and a winter wonderland outdoor cocktail and beer garden.
“I envision this event as a European-inspired market that caters to people of all ages, accessible and family-friendly,” Dasko said.
There will be interactive ice sculptures and a carving demonstration on Saturday at 2 p.m. A professional carver will show the process behind an ice sculpture.
Children can join the “Kids Cool Canvas Activity” – to paint murals. Everyone can join the ring toss game.
Take a selfie with Sawmill Sid’s giant snowflake display or the magical Hobbit House. A strolling Snow Queen, Elf and Santa will be available for pictures. Santa will be in his sleigh from 2 p.m. 4 p.m. on Saturday.
