‘Our roads are not the Daytona 500’; teen faces stunt driving charges in Mississauga

A teen faces stunt driving charges in Mississauga.
An 18-year-old driver faces stunt driving and other related charges after a vehicle was clocked at 127 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police said in a post on X this morning (Feb. 20).
“Our roads are not the Daytona 500!” the post reads.
The Daytona 500 is a 500-mile-long NASCAR Cup Series motor race held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The driver was stopped around 6 p.m. Monday in the area of McLaughlin Road and Highway 407, a Peel Regional Police spokesperson tells insauga.com.
The driver faces a 30-day licence suspension and 14-day vehicle impound, police said.
