Oshawa suspect charged with assault of police officer

A suspect from Oshawa has been arrested for an alleged assault on a police officer in Quinte West.

According to the OPP, their officers responded to a call of a trespasser driving “erratically” on Lorne Ave. in Trenton at 11 a.m. on Feb. 25.

Police say they caught up with a suspect in the residential area and moved to arrest them on outstanding warrants. Officers allege the suspect grew combative during the arrest and a police car was damaged.

Tracy Millar, 45, of Oshawa, was arrested for assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and mischief under $5,000.

Millar will remain in custody until an appearance in the Belleville courthouse.
